- A Fun Safe Place for Kids!

Looking at the May Calendar I couldn't help but notice how the hours of programming have dropped in May. This is partly due to the warmer weather and folks playing out in the sun more often, and partly because the PYC volunteers are working diligently on fundraising. We needed a slower month to raise some money for our ongoing operating expenses, and get us ready for the summer schedule. If you have thoughts on how the Prairieland Youth Center can best support this community, just let us know. We are always open to ideas and suggestions, especially if they come with the volunteer willing to supervise the program! We are a nonprofit ran mainly on volunteers, donations, and sponsorship. Help us give the youth a safe place to be this summer.

This weekend the PYC is holding its first annual Community Garage Sale. We are accepting donations until Friday May 16^th at Noon. The Sale is Saturday May 17^th 8:00am – 2:00pm – we will have coffee and treats as well as lots of good items to buy! We invite you to stop in, shop, have a cup of coffee, grab a calendar, and see all that the PYC is offering the youth and families of this community.  If you are willing to help with set up or for the day of the event - we sure could use your help!

We are excited to share that Montevideo Kiwanis is sponsoring our Family Skate Sunday, May 25^th from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. This will be a Free Family Event. We will also be selling pop, snacks and Jakes Pizza slices. We have 300 pairs of skates to use or you can bring rollerblades.

The June fundraiser will be a Whopper Feed in conjunction with the Montevideo City Pool Opening on Tuesday June 3^rd. The pool will be open from 1:00pm – 8:00pm, and we will be holding the whopper feed from 4:30pm – 7:00pm - $5 buys you a burger, fries, and a pop! What a great deal – lets hope for a warm summer day!

Looking for a place to rent for a party or event? The PYC Gym, play center, and rec room can all be rented for private events.
